Iran Film Week kicks off in Serbia

Iranian Film Week has been inaugurated in Serbian capital city, Belgrade.

The 17th Iranian Film Week held in Belgrade has screened Iran director Behzad Rafiee's 'Ranna Silence' at its opening day.

Starting March 14, the festival screened Behzad Rafiee's 'Ranna Silence' as its opening film.

A line up of five Iranian feature films are also scheduled to screen during the event. The flicks are subtitled in Serbian.

The films to screen are 'Voice of Silence' by Hadi Naeiji, 'Under the Smoky Roof' by Pouran Derakhshande, 'As Simple as That' by Reza Mirkarimi, 'Azar, Shahdokht, Parviz and Others' by Behrouz Afkhami and Behzad Rafiee's 'Ranna Silence'.

Iranian ambassador to Serbia Hossein Mollaabdollahi also attended the opening ceremony of the event.

Among the other attendees of Iranian Film Week were Indonesian Ambassador, Syrian charge d'affaires and some of the Serbian diplomats.

'Ranna Silence' narrates the story of a seven-year-old girl and her hen, Kakoli. Ranna lives in a village in Northern part of Iran and has a special hen called Kakoli. The hen lays eggs for Ranna and she draws a chicken on the shells of the eggs with colored pencils. On a rainy night, Kakoli is hunted by a jackal the story goes on.

The 17th Iranian Film Week in Belgrade is underway March 14-18, 2018.
